This is a 50% part-time Contract position for 1 year with the possibility of extension or conversion to career status. DESCRIPTION
The RDE 2 will be working on developing a robust Rust-based backend system that utilizes WebSockets to efficiently process user requests from a Svelte interface. Develop sophisticated full-stack web applications, enabling remote control and live visualization of data from UHD radios. Design and implement RF signals testbed, ensuring seamless administration through a user-friendly dashboard with live statistics, optimally presented in Grafana. Other duties within scope of description. Uses professional engineering concepts to perform moderately complex engineering assignments. Works in a specialized engineering field on a major training and / or research effort. Works on assignments of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or a related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Demonstrated knowledge of VHDL (SystemVerilog), x86 Assembly, Rust, C/C++, Python, MATLAB, JavaScript, HTML/CSS.
Knowledgde of OpenGL, GNU Radio, Vue, SvelteKit
Knowledge of Boost, PyTorch, UHD.
Demonstrated knowledge of Neovim, Docker / Docker Compose, Git / Github, Figma
Organizational abilities and decision-making to prioritize work assignments.
Working knowledge of engineering principles and methods in order to independently perform professional engineering design work of limited scope and complexity.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Working knowledge necessary to begin independent application of principles, practices and procedures in the completion of assignments.
Ability to work in a collaborative manner, to assist in identifying any challenges or barriers.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
Background check required. Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $77,000 - $139,200 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $36.88 - $66.67 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
