Junior Developer for Modeling and Simulation Computing (
Member of the Technical Staff / Sr. Member of the Technical Staff
- Systems and Modeling and Simulation Engineer) . We enable detailed and complex modeling, analysis, optimization, and visualization of satellite orbits, system architectures, and engineering trade-spaces to provide customer decision support for the future of space.
Work Model
This is a full-time position based in Colorado Springs, CO, or Chantilly, VA, offering a hybrid work model that combines 3 regular onsite workdays and remote flexibility as the business needs allow.
What You'll Be Doing
Partner with analysts to advise key stakeholders and government customers by developing a range of modeling and simulation workflows Independently conduct efforts to grow and sustain the department's modeling, simulation, and analysis capabilities in teams with multi-disciplinary technical leaders, Aerospace Program Office personnel, and external customers to define and address customer needs Develop and present timely and technically accurate briefings and reports that clearly communicate software development progress and provide recommended design solutions to technical leads, management, and customers Engage with software users and customers to refine capability requirements Apply modern development practices in areas including rapid prototyping, parallel computing, cloud computing, and containerization Travel as necessary to support customer efforts
What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements for the Member of the Technical Staff - Systems and Modeling and Simulation Engineer:
Bachelor's degree in STEM 2 or more years of related postgraduate level expertise in software development, gained through relevant professional or academic work related professional or academic post-graduate software development experience Demonstrated ability to self-manage time on multiple tasks to deliver projects on schedule Proven ability to follow guidance, and work autonomously Ability to communicate effectively through technical writing and presentations Proficiency in one or more of the organization's core computer languages such as Python or C++ Experience in implementing and optimizing modern software for deployment on Windows and Linux platforms Willing to travel occasionally to corporate or customer locations domestically approx. 2 times per year to support efforts as needed This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
In addition to the above, the minimum requirements for the Sr. Member of the Technical Staff - Systems and Modeling and Simulation Engineer include:
5 or more years of related postgraduate level expertise in software development, gained through relevant professional or academic work Demonstrated experience with leadership of software teams Demonstrated ability to assist in planning the evolution of analysis tools/workflows Proven ability and experience in mentoring and training emerging software developers to enhance their skills and knowledge

We offer a competitive compensation package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business. The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
