Revenue Cycle Manager

Job Summary:
The Revenue Cycle Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire revenue cycle process within our organization. This role ensures the efficient and accurate billing and coding of patient services, maximizes reimbursement, and minimizes denials and payment delays. The Revenue Cycle Manager leads a team, supports the Director of Billing, manages workflows, ensures compliance with healthcare regulations, and identifies opportunities to improve the financial performance of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the entire revenue cycle process, including patient intake, charge capture, coding, billing, payment posting, accounts receivable (AR) management, accounts payable and collections.
- Ensure timely and accurate billing of insurance claims and patient statements.
- Identify and resolve issues related to underpayments, overpayments, and billing discrepancies.
- Monitor and optimize the revenue cycle to improve cash flow and reduce days in accounts receivable (AR).
- Lead, train, and mentor a team of billing, coding, and collections staff.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching for staff members
- Ensure all revenue cycle activities comply with federal, state, and payer-specific regulations.
- Generate and analyze revenue cycle performance reports, including claims status, aging, payment trends, and denial rates.
- Provide regular reports to senior management regarding revenue cycle metrics, key performance indicators (KPIs), and financial forecasts.
- Collaborate with clinical, financial, and operational teams to ensure smooth workflow across departments.
- Act as a liaison between the revenue cycle team and other departments (e.g., Treatment Teams, IT) to resolve issues and ensure proper documentation and communication.
- Provide support and training to other departments regarding billing and coding procedures.
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Health Information System or other related area.
At least four years of managerial experience required. Experience working in an FQHC and/or behavioral health environment strongly preferred.
