Engineering Technician

Opportunity

Responsible under the supervision of management, to establish and improve manufacturing processes through the use of automation and technology.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Pottery Supervision to ensure timely implementation of projects as required. Includes, but is not limited to, spray systems, vision systems, process automation equipment, logic controller programming, robotic programming and process improvement.
  • Participate in Wisconsin Pottery Capital planning.
  • Trouble shoot various pieces of equipment including but not limited to Rockwell PLCs, Fanuc robots, automated handling systems, spray booths etc.
  • Develops detailed design specifications and makes design recommendations.
  • Maintain records and provide reports as required.
  • Prepare, maintain and update SOPs related to automation projects, job instruction cards, 5S and ISO documents.
  • Independently analyzes data procedures, or design requirements.
  • Follow all safety regulations to prevent personal injury and /or loss of company property or equipment.
  • Communicate cross-functionally on various automation and implementation issues with administrative staff, floor associates and maintenance department

Skills/Requirements

  • Two-year degree required. Four year degree in Engineering or Technical, or trade school in a related field strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of tools and equipment.
  • Must have the ability to instruct and direct other associates in their positions.
