The Department of Neurology at The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania has the following position open:
ACNP and PA-C positions managing Stroke Consult and Neurology in-patient services, caring for a variety of neuroscience patients admitted to the floor and step-down units [Intermediate Neurological Care Unit (INCU)].
The Neuroscience APP will work with the Department of Neurology as an ACNP or PA-C caring for ward and step-down level neurology patients and performing consults for acute stroke patients. The provider will direct the clinical management of emergent stroke patients and hospitalized Neurology patients. The providers practice with a high level of autonomy and expert skill in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of neuroscience patients. As part of their professional role, they integrate education, research, leadership, and consultation into their clinical practice. The ACNP or PA-C will demonstrate this through nursing and resident education, participation in the division's research mission and projects, hospital committee membership and leadership, quality initiatives, and providing continuity of care for hospital staff, patients, and their families. This full-time position requires rotating night and day shift.
The role as Neuroscience APPs is unique, challenging, and rapidly expanding. The APP will learn how to deliver expert care to Neuroscience patients from world-renowned General and Vascular Neurologists in Philadelphia's first comprehensive stroke center. In addition to medical management of general Neurology and Stroke patients, the Neuroscience APPs will be certified to perform bedside procedures.

ACNP or PA-C. Current licensure or eligible in the Commonwealth of PA. Eligible for credentialing by the medical board.
