**Position Description:**
Provides inpatient acute health care to infants, children, and adolescents. This includes health surveillance as well as assessment and intervention to diagnose and treat illness or disease, whether acute or chronic, physical, psychosocial, or behavioral. Nurse Practitioner works collaboratively with the supervising physician to provide patient assessment and diagnosis, formulate treatment plans, prescribe medication, order laboratory tests, interpret test results, provide patient education, prepare medical records, and refer patients for the services and care indicated. May also provide primary care services as indicated or needed. Reports to the Division Chief of the Hospitalist services. Refer to the delineation of privileges for a specific scope of practice.

+ Knowledge of Practice: The nurse practitioner integrates, translates, and applies established and evolving scientific knowledge from diverse sources as the basis for ethical clinical judgment, innovation, and diagnostic reasoning.
+ Family-Centered Care: The nurse practitioner uses evidence-based and best practices to design, manage, and evaluate comprehensive family-centered care within the regulatory and educational scope of practice.

+ Population Health: The nurse practitioner partners across the care continuum with public health, healthcare systems, the community, the academic community, governmental, and other entities to integrate foundational NP knowledge into culturally competent practices, increasing health promotion and disease prevention strategies and, thus, the care of populations.
+ Practice Scholarship and Translational Science: The nurse practitioner generates, appraises, synthesizes, translates, integrates, and disseminates knowledge to improve family-centered health and systems of care.
+ Quality and Safety: The nurse practitioner utilizes knowledge and principles of translational and improvement science methodologies to improve quality and safety for providers, patients, populations, and systems of care.

+ Health Systems: The nurse practitioner demonstrates organizational and system leadership to improve healthcare outcomes.

+ Bi-Lingual competence in English and Spanish.

+ Master's degree or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nursing Program preferred
