About Our Client
Our client is a growing leader in the Food & Beverage and Nutrition & Wellness space and is experiencing a rapid period of growth. The Cost Accountant will play a key role in managing product costing, standard cost updates, and inventory reconciliation while ensuring accurate financial reporting. This position requires a strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive improvements.
Job Description
Cost Accountant Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain product cost models, ensuring accurate standard cost updates. Analyze production costs, material usage, and overhead allocations to identify improvement opportunities. Manage inventory valuation, reconciliation, and variance analysis. Collaborate with operations to ensure accurate reporting and resolve discrepancies. Prepare detailed cost reports to support month-end and year-end closing. Assist with budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis related to cost and inventory performance. Implement and improve internal controls for cost accounting and inventory processes. Provide actionable insights to leadership for cost reduction and operational efficiency. The Successful Applicant
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 3-5 years of cost accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing or a similar environment. Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Knowledge of GAAP and standard costing principles.
