Senior VMware Engineer
- Design and implement VMware vSphere virtualization solutions, including server consolidation, high availability, and disaster recovery
- Configure and maintain VMware ESXi hosts, vCenter Server, and other VMware components
- Monitor virtual infrastructure performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies to ensure optimal resource utilization
- Provision, deploy, and manage virtual machines (VMs), templates, and snapshots
- Implement and maintain security measures for virtualized environments, including access controls, network segmentation, and VM isolation
- Create and maintain documentation related to virtualization configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides
Project Specific Education and Experience Requirements
- 12+ years of experience in the related field
- An active Secret Clearance is required
- Proven experience as a VMware Engineer or similar role, with expertise in designing and managing VMware vSphere environments
- Strong knowledge of VMware vSphere features and capabilities, including vCenter Server, ESXi hosts, vMotion, HA, DRS, and vSAN
- Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery methodologies for virtualized environments
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Must be based around the Colorado Springs, Colorado area and be available for on-site work, if the need arises
- Team player, fast learner with ability to work proactively and independently to support mission critical operations supporting geographically diverse locations
- HS Diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's Degree in related discipline preferred)
Desired Experience
- Certified in VMware Certified Associate (VCA) OR VMware Certified Professional (VCP) OR Certified Design Expert (VCDX)
- Familiarity with VMware NSX for network virtualization and security
