The Associate Creative Director, Creative Services drives creativity in graphic design, art direction, and production for digital and physical marketing collateral. This role ensures brand consistency across all deliverables from a busy design team and collaborates with marketing members and leaders to produce digital collateral, content marketing, decks, event materials, and more to support business growth.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building brands across a 360° sphere and ensuring that the brand’s story is conveyed across all channels. Additionally, as a designer, they are well-versed in contemporary aesthetic approaches and advanced digital and printed production, including but not limited to documents, display graphics, animations and advertising.

This position will report to our NYC Office on a hybrid schedule.

Responsibilities:

Provide design direction, inspiration and feedback on work product (including briefs, designs, animations and other solutions) to the full creative shared services team of designers, animators, photographers and video producers

Collaborate with creative operations leader to manage the full team workload and review process with creative director

Ensure consistency of Quad brand and creative across various executions

Champion both design and design process by presenting your work cross-functionally and effectively articulating design rationale

Mentor design and creative staff to foster a collaborative working environment that builds a culture of professional creative exchange

Produce designs of varying output type, from advertising to live events to document collateral, that maintain consistently high quality and are always in compliance with brand guidelines

Develop visual strategies and refine design styles for necessary brand expansions, as required by business leadership and under the direction of the creative director

Collaborate with agency and external design partners on occasion, as required

Liaising with broader marketing and brand teams to ensure objectives are met and deadlines are respected for assigned campaigns, decks, or events

Deep understanding of executing projects with a high level of thoughtfulness and professionalism

Identify design process gaps or inefficiencies and collaborate with project team leads and marketing leadership to contribute to improvements

Help cultivate a strong design culture within the larger organization

Leads and mentors a small team of designers within a larger creative services organization, ensuring high standards of quality and creativity are maintained for all projects

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree

20+ years of experience in design and production in an agency, brand or publishing environment

Strong background in building brands across a 360° sphere and ensuring that the brand’s story is conveyed across all channels.

Well-versed in contemporary aesthetic approaches and advanced digital and printed production, including but not limited to documents, display graphics, animations and advertising.

Portfolio of existing work demonstrating print and digital design collateral

Excellent presentation skills

Advanced skills in interpreting and articulating creative concepts to key stakeholders within and beyond the creative services team

Advanced knowledge in Adobe Creative Cloud, including but not limited to Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator

Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office 365, particularly (but not limited to) Word and PowerPoint

Advanced visual narrative skills

Working knowledge of project management software (Asana, Jira, Smartsheet, etc)

Working knowledge of Figma (or similar) for presentations and prototyping is helpful but not required

Working knowledge of UX principles and UI design are helpful, but not required

People management experience preferred

Experience adapting and working effectively in an ambiguous environment

Ability to work with global teams across time zones as needed

Ability to travel as needed

Employees can be expected to be paid an annualized salary range of $115k to $145k + bonus, based on variations in knowledge, skills, experience and market conditions.
