You will be accountable for designing, building, and testing printed circuit boards (PCB) for electronic products for the gas industry. The candidate will also design, develop and build test fixtures for production volumes and create test plans for a variety of projects within the group.

Our Client, is a leading U.S. supplier of industrial, medical and specialty gases, as well as hardgoods and related products, and serves as one of the largest U.S. suppliers of safety products; is seeking a Senior Electrical Hardware Engineer to join their growing team and design, build, and test printed circuit boards for their electronic products for the gas industry. Rudimentary firmware design experience is a plus.
Description
Design, build, test, and document electronic products from concept, feasibility, prototyping through production.
Create hardware design requirements, test plan and test results documentation for various systems.
Conduct system functional tests, and troubleshoot devices and equipment as required.
Communicate with board houses, becoming the main point of contact (technically) to minimize errors/delay in board production/delivery date.
Prepare product drawings, schematics and bills of material that meet project requirements.
Provide and continuously communicate time and cost estimates.
Provide ongoing technical assistance to manufacturing.
Work closely with software engineers in specifying components for efficient firmware design.
Profile
BS in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field.
5+ years of experience designing, building, and testing hardware for embedded systems.
Embedded microcontroller based hardware design, including peripheral devices such as A/D converters, voltage/current switches/regulators/controllers/monitors, memories, batteries, displays, keypads, solar panels, and charging system controllers.
Experience with board testing & verification from board houses.
Knowledge/experience with proper PC board/System level design so as to preclude electromagnetic compatibility issues and ESD within an RF/Embedded microcontroller antenna based system
Experienced using oscilloscopes, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers and basic lab tools and instruments.
Expert knowledge of schematic capture software such as OrCad, Altium, PADs or equivalent.
Experience with low power wireless sensor designs preferred.
Experience with design for Hazardous Locations preferred.
Experience with RF wireless communication technologies such as 4G, 5G, Dust, Sigfox and LoRa preferred.
Experience in documenting and obtaining TUV, EMC, UL, and FCC regulatory approvals preferred.
Experience with basic firmware design in C, C++, Assembly etc. preferred.
Experience with FPGAs and CPLD preferred.
Job Offer
Salary Range: $110,000 - $140,000
