About the team:
The team is responsible for ensuring seamless material capacity planning and logistics by creating forecasts, managing supplier relationships, and maintaining accurate materials databases. They focus on ensuring 100% material availability, managing order status updates, and addressing customer backlogs while overseeing supplier shipments, invoices, and inventory forecasts. Additionally, the team tracks supplier performance, escalates critical issues, and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
Your responsibilities as a Material Planner:
Create and calculate logistical forecast planning to ensure a smooth material capacity planning at supplier. Maintain materials database, reviews safety stocks, rounding values, and minimum lot sizes. Respond to customer service order manager about order status, changes, cancellations and/or customer backlogs. Ensure 100% material availability and special priority setting on fast moving parts. Manage accurate schedule line deliveries to suppliers. Contact supplier to verify shipment details and communication schedule line deviation. Examine shipping documents and create advanced shipping notices. Approve supplier freight invoices and coordinate premium freight. Utilize escalation process in case of critical vendor backlogs in cooperation with Sourcing and Purchasing Department. Track, analyze, and forecast supplier fill rate, report data on regular basis. Review inventory and storage costs and forecast demand. Interact with local and global internal and external customers. Your profile as a Material Planner:
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Economics, or related field and/or 3+ years of related supply chain experience Understanding of inventory control procedures SAP and MRP experience Exceptional attention to detail Strong knowledge of materials practices and procedures, including shipping and receiving Strong computer knowledge, specifically MS Office Why you should choose ZF in North Charleston, SC:
