Allina Health Minneapolis Heart Institute is seeking a Cardiac Surgery Physician Assistant to join the practice at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis
- 1.0 FTE
- Monday - Friday to meet department needs.
- On call rotation for surgical emergencies.
- Weekend rotation
- Average of 2 holidays / year.

Job Description:
Principle Responsibilities:
- Completes comprehensive patient assessments.?
- Consults with physician when patient needs outside of Nurse Practitioner scope of practice, diagnosis or treatment plan is unclear.
- Participates in health care team.
- Promotes communication within the team and other interdisciplinary health care staff.
- Acts as resource to members of the team.
Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree - Completion of accredited Physician Assistant program
Preferred Qualifications:
- New graduates may be considered. OR experience or First Assist experience required.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Licensed Physician Assistant - MN Board of Medical Practice required upon hire
- Active MN NP/PA license (or ability to obtain)
- BLS certification required with in 180 days of hire
- Ability to meet criteria/qualifications for credentialing and hospital privileges.
- Ability to obtain and/or maintain MN DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI)
Physical Demands:

- Lifting weight up to 32 lbs. occasionally (*Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), Up to 25 lbs. frequently
Pay Range
Pay Range: $147,600 to $180,400 per yearThe pay described reflects the starting base pay range, assuming a full-time FTE. Your starting rate will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable).Benefit Summary
