JOB SUMMARY
Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a dedicated Physician Assistant to join our Neurology Team in Round Rock, Texas.
We are looking for a collaborative team player with a proven track record in clinical practice. The ideal candidate will be focused on delivering high-quality patient care and will work closely with physicians, agencies, and other healthcare professionals to provide optimal outcomes within our award-winning integrated healthcare system.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Conduct comprehensive or problem-focused physical examinations and gather detailed medical histories to assess both the physical and mental condition of patients.
- Order, collect, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to determine patient healthcare needs and issues.
- Prescribe, recommend, and administer medical treatments, drug therapies, and related procedures, following approved protocols and focusing on efficacy, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
- Develop and implement comprehensive, evidence-based patient treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians and interdisciplinary team members, ensuring patient outcomes are evaluated and adjusted accordingly.
- Provide counseling to patients and families on managing illnesses, understanding medication regimens, and promoting overall health and wellness.
- Maintain thorough and accurate patient records, ensuring timely referrals when cases exceed the scope of the PAs practice.
- Deliver specialized consultation services in your area of expertise and specialty.
- Manage patient care in settings beyond primary care, such as inpatient or emergency services, when necessary.
- Perform invasive procedures within the PAs scope of practice, as delegated by the supervising physician.
- Be flexible to provide care beyond regular hours as needed, ensuring departmental coverage.
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS
- Extensive knowledge of diagnostic and treatment methodologies for human injuries, diseases, and deformities, including drug properties, treatment alternatives, and preventive health measures.
- Proficiency in diagnosing, treating, and rehabilitating both physical and mental health conditions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex medical information clearly.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities, particularly in complex cases.
- Proficient in computer usage and related software applications for medical documentation.
- Ability to develop and implement patient-specific, outcomes-driven treatment plans.
- Expertise in counseling patients regarding medical conditions, treatment options, and behavior modification.
- Skill in interpreting and evaluating laboratory results and diagnostic tests.
- Current, active license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the state of Texas.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire or transfer.
- Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
SCHEDULE: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Outpatient Care Only)

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of relevant clinical experience preferred.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire or transfer.
- Current Texas PA license.
