Bloomberg
Senior Software Engineer - DDI Platform
Bloomberg, New York, NY
Description & Requirements
Our Team:
The Network Engineering and Operations (NEO) group is responsible for provisioning, configuring, maintaining the majority of Bloomberg's network infrastructure, and supporting services and APIs. The DDI (DNS, DHCP, IPAM) team uses an infrastructure-as-code approach in conjunction with open-source tools to ensure a scalable and reliable environment. In addition to these responsibilities, the DDI group maintains a number of integral core infrastructure services: DDI, GSLB, DNS based load distribution, Load Balancers, and several supporting UI and API frameworks for self-service. This technology stack provides critical network services to all of Bloomberg's infrastructure and applications. It presents some interesting challenges in managing a large number of systems distributed around the globe in mixed networks while configuring them at scale across several different groups and teams within Bloomberg.
In NEO, you will interact with people from a wide range of technology teams, and you will be positioned to find ways to build better infrastructure while gaining exposure to nearly all of Bloomberg's foundational infrastructure.
What's in it for you:
This is a unique opportunity to help build robust, highly scalable solutions that will power the future of how Bloomberg manages its infrastructure platform. You'll be trusted to define standards, design frameworks, and build libraries and tooling that use best practices and principles. You'll work closely with outstanding infrastructure and software engineers to meet the field's most meaningful problems. You'll work with modern container orchestration tooling, CI/CD, and modern web frameworks to help us build a modern web platform that our engineers can use to request DNS, Load Balancing infrastructure, as well as assisting other teams in integrating their workflows into our product.
We'll trust you to:
