As a Principal Consultant focusing on our Serious Injury & Fatality (SIF) Prevention offerings at dss+, you will assume a key role in driving and expanding our presence with a strong emphasis on developing and delivering impact with our SIF Prevention System. You will be responsible for contributing to the global and regional go-to-market strategies for the dss+ SIF Prevention System, as a part of our safety & risk offerings across all of our industry teams, and with all of our regional SIF Practitioners. The Role
In this strategic and client-facing position, you will participate in the entire consulting value chain. This includes quality assurance of SIF Prevention System centerline deliveries, coordinating the inclusion of SIF workstreams in business development efforts, engaging in SIF project deliveries, overseeing and advising others on their management of SIF projects, and fostering account development.
You will also be a global thought leader, actively shaping and driving our SIF Prevention position within the global dss+ ORM community, our OPEX and ESG practices, through our people centrical approach leveraging our digital platforms. This role also requires intense collaboration with all the dss+ Industry Teams. Ultimately, this role will be instrumental in ensuring that dss+ maintains a leadership position in providing innovative approaches to SIF Prevention and delivering high impact value to our clients.

Who are you today?
You have Operations Management Consulting and commercial experience. You're most likely a Principal, Partner, or Director in a management consulting firm, and you have an impressive track record in selling Serious Injury & Fatality Prevention consulting services. You have experience working in risk-intensive industries as a Safety/EHS Director, where you encountered SIF exposures and implemented SIF risk control processes.
You know how to develop industry best practices, and you take long-term client relationships seriously. You're a great listener - allowing you to develop offers and solutions that meet each client's unique needs. You have credibility at every level in an organization when you express your points of view on SIF exposure and SIF risk control. You may have published and presented thought pieces on workplace SIF Prevention. You are willing to learn the dss+ SIF Prevention System, promote it, and deliver SIF risk reduction impact to our clients. And you're comfortable in the C-suite, engaging as a peer with board members, investment teams and portfolio company leaders.

You will be responsible to...
- Report directly to ORM Global Practice Director and be accountable for working closely with dss+ SIF Practitioners and Industry Leads, with a focus on business development, go-to-market strategies, leading-edge growth of the dss+ SIF Prevention System, and coordination with our broader Safety & Risk offerings.
- Client Acquisition: Identify potential clients through research and network building, work with Industry Leaders to scope projects, prepare and deliver presentations tailored to client needs.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve sales targets. Stay abreast of market trends and competitor activity to inform strategic decisions to innovate our SIF Prevention offerings
- Collaborate with the global Industry Teams to contribute to thought leadership, offerings, and methodologies, bringing global best practices to the global market and clients
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior client executives, maintaining and expanding relationships in alignment with the account team. Understand client needs and consult on SIF solutions that add value to their business
- Coordinate with marketing to develop targeted campaigns and collateral materials and deliver SIF presentations and keynotes at select conferences.

Qualifications
- More than 15 years of experience leading and managing SIF prevention program elements, with a proven ability to understand client situations and application of best-fit solutions to control SIF exposures.
- Proven field-level experiences with essential workplace safety systems and processes, including:
- Life-Saving Rules and the processes that support their development and implementation
- Cause Evaluations/Root-Cause Analysis
- Corrective and Preventive Actions, with application of Hierarchy of Controls
- SIF Protection - Critical Controls Verification
- EHS Leading and Lagging Metrics Dashboards
- Experience working and consulting in a diverse range of industry sectors, such as Chemicals, Oil & Gas, Consumer Products, Food & Beverage, Agriculture, Mining & Metals, Utilities, Heavy Manufacturing, Private Equity - with knowledge of the different SIF risks faced by these industries.
- Strong existing network of relevant senior leaders in many of these industry sectors.
- High credibility with the professional safety community.
- Exceptional communication skills at the C-suite level, with the ability to effectively drive business development, solution development, and high-quality delivery of key services. Equally able to connect with front-line leaders and workers.
- Ability to explain SIF prevention theory in a manner that influences key persons in client organizations to sponsor and lead SIF mitigation initiatives.
- Proven experience in managing, leading, and developing a team
- A solid foundation in account management, with a focus on client retention, revenue growth, and customer satisfaction
- Ability to perform under pressure in client meetings and field situations, responding accurately to complex and challenging issues and questions.
- An entrepreneurial spirit, results-focused, and adept at thriving in a fast-paced, rapidly growing consulting environment
Expertise
- Bachelor's degree in safety engineering, safety management, risk management, or other similar engineering or science degree. Master's degree or PhD is a plus.
- Professional Safety & Health Certification (CSP, CIH), is a plus.
- The ideal candidate will have a mix of industry and consulting background
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and a team-working attitude to collaborate within fast-paced, multi-cultural, and multi-disciplinary teams
