Summary This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI), Business Services Group (BSG), Division of Technology Solution (DTS). As a Supervisory IT Specialist (Systems Analysis), GS-2210-15, you will serve as Division Director, directing staff responsible for the design, development, and implementation of IT solutions that enable CMMI to launch and operate models. Responsibilities Provide technical expertise on programs driven by Section 3021 of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Exercise a full range of supervisory and personnel management authorities and responsibilities in directing work of subordinate staff . Manage the overall work of an organization that designs, develops, and implements IT solutions that support the launch and operations of new program initiatives. Direct specialists who assemble IT solutions and manage a suite of major IT systems and commercial soft ware products. Provide advice and consultation regarding the formulation and modification of policies and other activities of the Division, including IT budget and IT contract management. In order to qualify for the occupational series 2210, you must meet the following: You must have IT related experience, demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience obtained in either the private or public sector, and/or completion of specific, intensive training that demonstrates that I possess each of the following four competencies: Attention to Detail - is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail; Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services; Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately; and Problem Solving - identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. In order to qualify for the GS-15 , you must meet the following: In addition to the above competencies, you must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: Direct multi-disciplinary teams that plan, develop, and implement major IT solutions for healthcare or similar programs. AND Develop IT budget and/or contract acquisition plans for a portfolio of IT systems and services; AND Direct and guide multi-disciplinary teams to maintain compliance with IT governance requirements of the organization. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Supervisory positions must report a minimum 2 times per week and non-Supervisory positions must report a minimum of 2 times per pay period.
