The University of Northern Iowa's School of Music seeks applicants for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Trumpet position, starting in August 2025. Responsibilities include teaching applied trumpet in both classical and jazz styles. This position requires a candidate who is committed to develop and maintain an active portfolio of scholarly research/creative activities and service, including a national and international profile. Service expectations include recruitment and advisement of talented undergraduate and graduate trumpet majors, participation on graduate committees, full participation on other School of Music committees, and service at the College and University levels as appropriate. Additional responsibilities may include teaching brass techniques class, trumpet seminar, and additional assignments depending upon departmental need and area(s) of expertise.

Required Qualifications:
Earned doctorate in trumpet performance or related field plus at least one year of college teaching experience required. ABD will be considered, but degree must be conferred within one year of appointment.
Preferred Qualifications:
At least three years of successful college-level teaching experience preferred.
