Hermeus is an aerospace and defense technology company founded to radically accelerate air travel by delivering hypersonic aircraft. The company aims to develop hypersonic aircraft quickly and cost-effectively by integrating hardware-rich, iterative development with modern computing and autonomy. This approach has been validated through design, build, and test of the company's first combined turbojet-ramjet engine and is now being scaled through its first flight vehicle program, Quarterhorse. Hermeus is also developing Darkhorse - an uncrewed hypersonic aircraft designed to deliver unique asymmetric capabilities to the warfighter.

The MES Application Engineer role supports configuration, enhancement, interface, and operation of the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) as well as maintenance of our Manufacturing network and current and future software applications that support our manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities:

Oversee the daily operations of the MES platform, including configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting to ensure system availability and performance. Provide technical support and training to end-users, including resolving system issues and managing user access and permissions. Provide and manage production support for MES functions including ERP interfaces, Test interfaces, MES master data maintenance & process modeling, MES functionality (transactions and user interfaces), and Database / reporting functions. Work closely with IT and engineering teams to integrate MES with other systems such as ERP and PLM, ensuring smooth data flow and interoperability. Configures system settings and options, plans and executes integration acceptance testing with required documentation Creates, configures, and updates product workflows, specifications, and data collections in MES for new product introductions or major process changes. Communicate system functionality requirements on behalf of the end-user by building consensus with engineers, and business leadership to ensure that system functionality and solutions meets business needs. Ensure accurate and timely data capture within the MES, including monitoring data integrity and generating reports to support decision-making. Analyze system performance and workflows to identify areas for improvement. Implement enhancements to optimize manufacturing processes and productivity. Maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guides. Create user manuals and training materials as needed. Ensure that the MES complies with industry regulations and company policies, including data security and quality standards. Participate in MES-related projects, including new system implementations, upgrades, and process changes. Coordinate with vendors and external partners as required. Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in computer science or field of study applicable to the role. Prior experience (1 - 3 years) in a hardware manufacturing environment or related industry preferred. Experience managing projects, including system upgrades and process improvements. Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple priorities. Effective communication skills, with the ability to interact with cross-functional teams and present technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders. Solid problem solving and analytical skills required, Knowledge of Windows 7, Windows 10 and/or Windows Server, Familiarity with TCP/IP systems desired. Understanding VBA, SQL, VB.NET and/or Java EE, IIS and/or WebSphere, and XML a plus but not required. Programming experience that includes an object oriented or scripting language a plus.

$140,000 - $175,000 a year
