Position Summary

This position encompasses the role of an advisory-level business analyst within the Network Standards department. The position focuses on business, functional, and technical requirements management through the project life cycle; from requirements gathering through implementation. In addition to business-initiated enhancement efforts, the Advisor business analyst is expected to fully review departmental business processes and proactively identify opportunities for improvement, such as automation. The Advisor business analyst performs requirements-gathering, creates documentation, conducts unit tests, and oversees user-acceptance testing on application development initiatives. The position requires productive communication with our business partners to improve service delivery and product enhancement efforts, proactively driving requirements meetings and actively proposing solutions. The Advisor business analyst assists in training business partners on new application functionalities and performs application support by logging and researching reported system issues. The position requires the ability to identify and record value metrics related to application enhancements to report back on business value delivered. The Advisor business analyst will leverage their in-depth business analysis and project management skills to deliver successful end-user products with timely and smooth implementations. They will support the full Software Development Life Cycle and be flexible to play any of the following roles depending on project/application: Business Analyst, Project Manager, and QA/UAT Lead.

Responsibilities:

Identifies stakeholders and conducts interviews to gather business requirements via workshops. Builds process flows, workflows, and data flows to represent the current and future state of business processes.Creates requirements documents, user-story maps, and user-stories to provide direction to development team.Analyzes and verifies requirements for completeness, consistency, comprehensibility, feasibility, and conformity to standards. Identify business, operational, and technical tasks, scope, time constraints and task interdependencies. Leads walkthrough of business requirements and design reviews.

Ensures that the current and proposed Network Technology business process flows are complete and accurate to ensure that product development aligns with business goals and objectives.

Contributes to the Network Technology product design through effective interfacing with the development team (by project).Conducts design reviews between our business partners and the development team; including participating in design reviews for other projects lead by other BAs.

Drives projects to completion both on-time and on budget.Sets project goals and generates project documentation. Proactively identifies and communicates issues that may jeopardize milestones or project budget to Network Technology leadership.

Manages product testing by developing test cases and coordinating QAT & UAT sessions to ensure all issues have been corrected before deployment. Acts as the liaison between the business and developers to ensure quick and accurate issue resolution.

Ensures that Network Technology document repositories, training materials, and user documentation to support implementation activities are updated and current.

Establish standards for technical documentation and user documentation. Implement best practices and consistent methodologies as it applies to: requirements gathering, project management, QAT and UAT, and product implementation. Provides oversight on documentation of business requirements across the Network Technology BA group through peer reviews.

Required Qualifications

5+ years experience in business analysis or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

A minimum of 8 years experience in business analysis or a related field.

Knowledge of pharmacy network operations and adjudication processes across CVS Caremark platforms is desired.

Knowledge of client set up activities and claims processing flow.

Experience with MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Visio)

Experience with Web based applications

Experience with Caremark data warehouses and analysis tools.

Knowledge of SharePoint and SQL Reporting Services.

Familiarity with PBM business model (plans, programs, and practices) as well as pharmaceutical practices (nomenclature, medications)

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal communication/social skills and the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Excellent analytical and conceptual thinking skills.

Ability to produce concise, clear, and complete business requirements.

Ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions.

Serve as a liaison between the business owner and the development team to provide technical solutions.

Ability to negotiate effort scope and commitments by facilitating communication between business and development teams.

Ability to work independently and to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Ability to take project ownership and guide efforts through to deployment. Project management expertise.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Microsoft Visio.

A history of leading and supporting successful projects.

Ability to mentor and coach others.

Education

Bachelor's degree or relevant professional experience required

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$83,430.00 - $166,860.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
