The Role:We are looking for a Senior Corporate Counsel to join our Legal Department. This role will serve as the primary coverage for our Forge Data business and will work closely with the business and other internal stakeholders to advise on specific market data products and services, and related legal and regulatory requirements. The role will also support a variety of corporate, HR and IP related matters. The ideal candidate will have general corporate experience as well as specific experience in financial services and supporting product and business teams to meet their needs and objectives while ensuring that the company remains compliant with various laws and regulations and industry best practices.Location:Hybrid role based out of our Soho, NY office. This role requires 1-3 days a week in office.Responsibilities:Provide primary legal support to the Forge Data business, partner with the business, product and engineering teams on developing new data products and assist with go-to-market and marketing efforts related to Forge data products and services.Advise on relevant legal and regulatory requirements as they pertain to market data offerings, data analytics, indices, and other products developed by Forge, and coordinate and collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders to identify and help mitigate legal and reputational risks and ensure consistent implementation of legal guidance for our data products and services.Advise on and negotiate various licensing, distribution and other relevant agreements.Work with other members of the legal team and provide support related to general corporate matters across legal entities, including our US parent company, international subsidiaries, and joint ventures, ensuring accurate and current information for corporate governance and legal compliance purposes.Assist with a variety of corporate and securities transactions, including M&A, international expansion, and other strategic initiatives.Provide legal support to other areas such as IP, trademark and patent related matters, HR, and litigation.Work on cross-functional company initiatives and other special projects as needed.Required Qualifications: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and licensed to practice law.Top academic and professional credentials.3-5 years of experience – ideal candidate will have a combination of top corporate law firm and in house experience preferably with a good understanding of general corporate law.Willingness to provide support to other areas such as IP, HR and litigation, and other corporate matters.Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time in an office or home office setting while workingPreferred Qualifications:Strongly preferred experience with a financial services company and understanding of financial data products. Understanding of and familiarity with applicable legal and regulatory frameworks, including federal and state financial regulations and requirements related to data products and analytics, including market data and indices.For residents of San Francisco/Bay Area, CA or New York, NY the annual salary range for this role is $155,000 - $175,000 + annual bonus. Final offers may vary from the amount listed based on geography, candidate experience and expertise, bonus, and other factorsForge implements a mandatory COVID-19 Vaccination Policy, which applies to all employees.
