Title:

Network Traffic Optimization Engineer

Duration: 6+ Months

Location: Tampa, FL

Rate: $65/hr - $75/hr

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Experience with Load Balancing: Hands-on experience with hardware and software-based load balancing solutions (e.g., F5, NGINX, or similar).

Network Traffic Management: Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS) and traffic management techniques (QoS, DNS-based load balancing, etc.).

Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI): Expertise in Cisco ACI architecture and configuration to optimize network performance and provide flexibility in data center environments.

Microsegmentation:

Experience with microsegmentation tools and strategies (e.g., VMware NSX, Cisco ACI) to isolate and secure network segments.

Network Monitoring Tools: Familiarity with network monitoring and diagnostic tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark, NetFlow) to troubleshoot and optimize network traffic.

Scripting/Automation Skills: Knowledge of automation tools or scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ansible, PowerShell) to streamline network management tasks.

Security Best Practices: Understanding of network security protocols and best practices, especially as they relate to traffic optimization and microsegmentation.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certifications: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), or similar certifications related to networking and security.

Cloud Experience: Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and integrating network optimization strategies in a multi-cloud environment.

Experience with SDN: Knowledge of Software-Defined Networking (SDN) solutions and their role in traffic management and optimization.
