GVI, Inc. seeks a Technical Writer to provide document development on behalf of the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Division Keyport. Responsibilities: Document Support Prepare technical manual changes from existing Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) source material and from government supplied change documentation. Prepare new technical manuals from government and other contractors supplied source documentation that will be in the form of engineering drafts, engineering drawings, graphics, source material or similar describing technical manual input. Edit and create Standardized General Markup Language (SGML) / Extensible Markup Language (XML) source text. Create and update Technical Manual graphics from government-provided source material. Attend Status Meeting as required. Draft Software Requirement Specification, Performance Verification Test, System Safety Verification Test, Longevity Test, Posture Transition Test, Software Design Document, Interface Document, White Papers and various developmental and formal test reports Requirements: Must obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance. Minimum degree in English, communications, journalism or related field. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of Navy technical manuals and how to generate engineering technical documentation Familiarity with Arbortext or other SGML/SML. Electronic Warfare system experience. Organization and Time Management Strong editing and proof reading skills Preferred Qualifications or Skillset: Preferred degree in an Engineering Discipline or multi Engineering discipline with strong preference for document generation.
