Job Description:
GPAC has partnered with an established firm and we are seeking a motivated and talented General Liability Associate Attorney to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will have experience in insurance defense, general liability, and commercial litigation. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who is passionate about litigation and eager to work on complex and high-profile cases.
Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in a wide range of general liability matters, including personal injury, property damage, and premises liability cases.
- Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery requests, and respond to opposing counsel’s motions and discovery requests.
- Conduct depositions and participate in pre-trial proceedings.
- Manage a caseload of general liability matters from inception to resolution.
- Advise clients on risk management and potential liability exposure.
- Negotiate settlements and assist with trial preparation.
- Work collaboratively with partners, senior associates, and support staff to deliver the best results for clients.
- Stay current on legal developments in general liability, insurance defense, and relevant statutes.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the Virginia Bar.
- 2 years of experience in general liability or insurance defense litigation.
- Strong research, writing, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage a caseload and work independently.
- Proven experience with depositions, court appearances, and trial preparation is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
