Leading a large team of 20+ Engineering Technicians within the Humanoid AI Robot team who work side by side with Engineers to support and sustain the research and development of our prototype robots and sub-systems.You'll be leading the team that is building/repairing the first iterations of the machines that make the machines, including highly actuated and electronically/computationally dense robots.
You will have a blend of leading large teams operating in a 24/7 capacity, creating a clear and concise shift schedules, as well as have hands-on building experience and responsibilities around analysis, testing, and documentation. Projects are open ended and often with limited up front guidance. The successful candidate for this position must have a broad background leading teams in Mechatronics, Industrial, and/or Automotive, Precision Medical Device, Maintenance, and Testing.Must be a self-starter and efficiently work independently as well as in team environments.
Responsibilities
Manage Engineering Technicians who service Tesla Bot Develop training programs and hiring plans for Technicians Develop & maintain standardized work Instructions and track key metrics that emphasize safety, quality, efficiency & cost Promote cross training, job flexibility, and versatility of Technicians to improve capabilities and increase capacity Support issue resolution including root cause investigation & corrective action tracking Must be well organized, skilled in documenting results and procedures Can work in a team environment and individually, capable of handling stressful/challenging situations Provide detailed written & verbal test status updates to key stakeholders Collaborate with Engineering teams to root cause and resolve mechanical and electrical issues Provide daily bot inspections and shift pass down reports to key stakeholders Requirements
Experience managing teams of people in a service type environment Ability to work with and develop performance metrics Strong analytic problem-solving skills Able to work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines Remain engaged, proactive and positive in tough circumstances, owning assignments and taking full accountability for their success Previous hands-on experience with hand and power tools, high & low voltage systems, wire harnesses assembly and repair, mechanical components, electro-mechanical devices, soldering irons, wire crimping tools, DMM multi-meters, and oscilloscopes Able to interpret drawings and 3D CAD, and able to read mechanical & electrical drawing diagram-schematics; harness drawings and create a harness from scratch.Experience in CAD (ex. CATIA, SolidWorks) and/or electrical design (ex. Altium), fabrication /machining, 3D printing, and laser cutting equipment are preferred but not required Understanding and creating work instructions SOP for service repair, installation, part rework, various tools, hardware components and test equipment Must be able to use spreadsheet tools (ex. Microsoft Office) and Project Management Software:JIRA.Python knowledge a plus Compensation and Benefits Benefits

$104,000 - $192,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
