Position Summary Skilled work in operating a shuttle bus and transporting passengers over the prescribed routes with the County or other transportation program tasks.

Essential Functions

Operates passenger bus, mini-buses and vans according to established routes and schedules. Maintains records and logs on travel time, mileage, gas, passengers served, traffic accidents and passenger injury. Inspects and adjusts equipment for proper operating condition, which includes fluids. Inspects body of coach for unreported damage. Ensures assigned vehicles are cleaned (interior and exterior). Assists passengers on and off the bus (including packages as needed). Performs related work as required. Must comply with the provisions of the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Drug and Alcohol Regulations. During emergencies, all employees are considered essential personnel and may be required to perform alternate duties. Minimum Qualifications

High School graduate or equivalent. Some experience in operating large vehicles. Possession of a valid Florida Class 'C' or higher Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger Transport Endorsement. Flagler County is a drug free workplace, some positions may require a pre-employment drug screen.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of State and County traffic and motor vehicle regulations. Ability to operate the assigned vehicle in the prescribed manner. Ability to detect malfunctioning mechanical systems on the assigned vehicle. Ability to understand and carry-out oral and written instructions given in English. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the general public and co-workers. Physical Demands :

Must be able to assist handicapped/wheelchair bound individuals. Must be able to safely assist all passengers on and off the bus in the event of an emergency, including the use of the rear emergency door. Must have the use of sensory skills for communication ability. Significant sitting, reaching, handling, pushing and pulling. Must be able to lift 30 to 50 lbs. on occasion. DOT/CDL Pre-employment physical will be required.
