Job Description
Financial Management and Reporting
Oversee the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to GAAP or IFRS. Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all deadlines are met. Provide detailed financial analysis and reporting to support decision-making by the CFO and executive team. Budgeting and Forecasting
Collaborate with the CFO and department heads to develop annual budgets and forecasts. Monitor budget performance and provide variance analyses with actionable recommendations. Assist in long-term financial planning and strategy development. Compliance and Risk Management
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, including preparing and submitting necessary filings. Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate annual audits and resolve audit findings. Develop and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure policy adherence. Accounting Operations
Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and job costing. Manage the construction-specific accounting processes, such as work-in-progress (WIP) schedules and percentage-of-completion accounting. Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts, ensuring data integrity and proper classification. Team Leadership
Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering professional growth and development. Set performance goals, conduct regular evaluations, and address any performance issues promptly. Promote a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement. The Successful Applicant
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role. Experience in the construction industry, including familiarity with construction accounting software (e.g., Sage 300, Procore, or similar). Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles, including WIP and job costing. Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented mindset. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. What's on Offer
