Database Administrator - MongoDB:

Primary Skills: MongoDB(Expert), Kubernetes(Advanced), Docker(Advanced), SQL(Advanced), Python(Intermediate) Contract Type: W2 Only Duration: 12+ Months with Possible Extension Location: San Jose, CA (#LI-Hybrid 3 Days a Week) Pay Range: $70 - $75 per hour on W2 #LP Job Summary: We are looking for a seasoned Database Administrator with a strong focus on MongoDB to join our San Jose-based team for a year-long project with potential for extension. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, upgrading, and ensuring the security of databases to support critical applications, leveraging extensive experience in MongoDB, Kubernetes, and related technologies. This role requires hands-on experience in database performance tuning, security enhancement, and containerization, offering the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a global team. Key Responsibilities:

Support and manage MongoDB clusters critical for eBay applications. Ensure database security by addressing all vulnerabilities and adhering to eBay's security standards. Monitor database clusters to preemptively identify and resolve potential issues. Develop tools for data migration from MongoDB to PostgreSQL. Collaborate with the application team to resolve incidents and participate in 24x7 on-call support rotation.

Must-Have Skills:

Strong understanding of MongoDB architecture and database management (deployment, maintenance, backup/restore). Proficient in database performance tuning and optimization for MongoDB. Experience with Kubernetes for application and database containerization.

Industry Experience: Preference for candidates with experience in large-scale, distributed database platforms, particularly those servicing high-transaction environments.
