Job Description
David Zwirner gallery seeks a dynamic Accounting Intern to join its Finance Department. The position is based in New York and reports into the Global Controller. This position will work closely with all levels of the finance team, gaining exposure to financial reporting, analysis and various accounting tasks.
Primary responsibilities:
- Assist the accounts payable team with vendor statement reconciliations
- Reconcile petty cash accounts
- Assist with bank reconciliations
- Assist with document retrieval for year-end audit
- Assist with credit card reconciliations
- Assist Tax Manager with document retrieval for sales tax compliance
- Organize departmental shared folders
- Update SOPs including travel & entertainment, fixed assets
- Assist Senior Business Analyst with data review clean-up
- Reorganize the Notion pages for the Finance Team
- Research technical matters
Requirements:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in accounting
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
The winter/spring internship runs from approximately Monday, January 6th – Friday, April 18th. To ensure that our interns have a well-rounded and educational experience, we ask for a commitment of 3 months, with a minimum of 3 full days per week. Hours are 10AM – 6PM, Monday through Friday. All interns are paid New York State minimum wage of $16.50/hour. Only qualified candidates will be contacted. Absolutely no calls or walk-ins please.
