Our Belle Chasse office is seeking an experienced Accounting Assistant to assist our Accounting Manager with all aspects of the monthly financial processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a passion for accuracy and efficiency.

Responsibilities include:
  • Standard month end journal entries including accruals
  • Maintain asset depreciation
  • Maintain amortization schedules
  • Calculate and record monthly depreciation and amortization expense
  • General ledger account and subledger analysis (A/P)
  • Month end analysis and review of accounts
  • Sales tax application for accounts receivable
  • Process annual 1099 forms for all entities
  • Inventory management
  • Monthly bank reconciliations
  • File Personal property tax self-assessment forms


Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2-5 years' experience in accounting (A/P, A/R, GL, & Journal Entries)
  • Proficiency in MS Office Products, most notably MS Excel
