Job Category

Position Summary

Performs accounting and clerical functions to support supervisors.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform filing and general administrative tasks.
  • Data entry (A/P invoices) in computer system using defined computer programs (SAP) for payment.
  • Verifying the accuracy of the invoice and other accounting documents or records.
  • Interfaces with vendors with follow up of outstanding invoices/invoice discrepancies.
  • Monitoring discount opportunities.
  • Perform weekly check/ACH runs.
  • Coordinates monthly accruals to general ledger.
  • Processes intercompany manual invoices, maintains invoice log for intercompany A/R nontrade.
  • Reconciles accounts payable bank statement.
  • Open mail and matching of the payment documentation to the invoice backup.
  • Prepares all check payments for outgoing mail.
  • Support accounting personnel.
  • Responsible for the business license registration/renewal.
  • Participates in the auditing of the inventory count.
  • Assist multi state unclaimed property reports and interfaces with state agencies.
  • Sets up all vendor numbers and maintains W-9 information.
  • Assist in submitting 1099 at year end to non-employee compensation.
  • Assist in monthly and year end accounts payable closing activities.

Education and/or Experience

Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school: or a minimum of three years accounting experience in manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret invoices, expense reports, and other accounting documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from vendors and employees.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.

Other Skills and Abilities

Requires proficiency personal computers and related software.
