As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Accounting Manager to join our team.

Position Overview:

The Accounting Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial operations of our firm. Reporting directly to the Controller, the Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.

Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Provide accurate and timely financial reporting to support decision-making processes.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Collaborate with department heads to develop and monitor budgets.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and variance analysis.

Accounting Operations:

  • Supervise the day-to-day activities of the accounting team (3 direct reports and 2 indirect).
  • Manage general ledger accounts and perform reconciliations.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency.
  • Implement best practices to streamline accounting procedures.

Audit Preparation:

  • Coordinate and manage external audits.
  • Prepare audit schedules and support documentation.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other departments to gather financial information and support business initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to drive strategic financial planning.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA designation is a plus.
  • Proven experience as an Accounting Manager or Senior Accountant ready to take the next step, preferably in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
