Job Description
Title: Manager, Global Accounting
Opportunity
Our client, a Fortune 500 public company. Is seeking their Accounting Manager to join the Controller’s Group He / she will become a team member responsible for global accounting and reporting and quarterly SEC reporting compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
· Reporting to the Managing Director of Global Accounting, this role will help prepare the Company's external reporting and ensure it is fully integrated into the business strategy and regulatory requirements
· Assist with a broad range of activities, including, but not limited to, accounting for mergers/acquisitions, pension accounting, external reporting, and ESG reporting.
External Reporting
· Assist with preparing, reviewing, and filing the Company’s external financial statements and disclosures with the SEC (10-K and 10-Q) in compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC requirements. Establish a timetable and responsibilities, including identifying tasks and resources.
· Work closely with management and liaison with external auditors and others to ensure that all information in the Company’s SEC filings, quarterly press releases, investor presentations, proxy, and other current reports is accurate, adequately documented, and supported.
· Assist with all relevant SEC and U.S. GAAP disclosure checklists and reporting questionnaires to ensure the appropriateness and completeness of disclosures. Implement new disclosures as needed.
· Assist with the implementation of process improvements.
· Assist with the accuracy and completeness of XBRL tagging in the Company’s filings.
· Perform monthly closing activities such as reviewing the consolidated income statement and balance sheet variance analysis, reconciling accounts and accounting entries, and completing other analyses.
· Assist with processes supported by an appropriate internal control environment and related execution of controls and supporting documentation.
· Participate in other special projects (financing transactions, acquisitions, divestitures, etc.) as needed.
Technical Accounting
· Assist with preparing and reviewing technical accounting memos addressing complex transactions.
· Assist with accounting standards, policy documentation, and implementation, guiding applying new pronouncements while ensuring compliance with reporting requirements.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as finance, legal, and external auditors to ensure accurate interpretation of accounting standards and successful execution of financial reporting initiatives.
· Assist with research and assess the accounting impact of M&A, divestitures, and financing arrangements, providing actionable recommendations to senior management.
ESG Reporting
· Provide project management support for ESG reporting initiatives, coordinating tasks across departments, tracking progress, and ensuring timely completion of deliverables.
Assist in preparing and consolidating ESG data from various departments to support accurate, timely reporting in line with established sustainability frameworks (e.g., Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive, CSRD,) - (Global Reporting Initiative (GRI,) - (Sustainability Accounting Standards.
· Board SASB) - (Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures, TCFD) - (Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation, SFRD).
· Maintain data quality internal controls and ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and internal corporate policies to support the implementation of ESG reporting processes.
· Conduct research and analysis on emerging ESG reporting standards to ensure the company complies with evolving regulatory and stakeholder expectations.
Qualifications
· 3-5 years of accounting and finance or related experience within a Mid-Tier or Big 4 accounting firm and a global Fortune 500 company, preferably within an Advertising and Marketing company or in the service industry
· Be able to assist with accounting related to mergers and acquisitions accounting, noncontrolling interest, goodwill, and intangibles.
· Demonstrated understanding of advanced accounting topics such as pension accounting, mergers and acquisitions, implementing new accounting standards, and related disclosures.
- Working knowledge with some or all external reporting for the drafting, review, and filing of SEC reports, including form 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, Earnings Release, Investor Presentation, Proxy, and other regulatory filings
· Superb interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
· Experience or familiarity with Workiva, Hyperion, OneStream, and Environmental, Social, and Governance, (ESG) reporting are all a plus/office365 suite, especially Excel required
Reports to: Managing Director of Global Accounting
Education
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
· Professional certification preferred, such as CPA or CMA or actively pursuing
· An advanced degree (MBA, master’s degree in accounting or finance) is a plus.
Compensation: Base 125k plus substantial Bonus and all Benefits
