Current energy consumption projects include bitcoin mining centers, while energy generation consists of over 160 MW of wind farms. Future endeavors include energy storage projects. In addition to development, WindHQ offers asset management and operations services to its data center and wind projects. At WindHQ our accounting department services its operation projects, development projects, and provides support to the WindHQ business.

What The Role Entails

WindHQ seeks a motivated accounting leader, with team management experience, who is looking for a new opportunity in a complex and interesting industry. The successful candidate supports the corporate accounting department by owning the financial preparation, reporting, and accounting functions attached to joint ventures (JV) that WindHQ provides asset management services to. The Accounting Manager is responsible for assisting Senior Leadership and the Controller in implementing formal departmental closing process controls for the JVs, as well as assisting with the drafting of position papers on numerous accounting topics ranging from consolidations, revenue recognition, debt, capital assets.

Requirements

What You Will Get to Do

  • Execute billing, invoicing, capital calls, and general operational/treasury functions for JVs
  • Maintain the JV's accounting books in accordance with GAAP
  • Assist Controller with maintaining compliance with JV partner compliance authorities (Tax Equity and Construction Loan) covenants
  • Ability to manage up and work with Controller and accounting consultants on complex topics
  • Assist Controller in preparing position papers on complex transactions
  • Prepare/review journals that inform monthly P/L and balance sheet activity
  • Prepare/review accounting/reconciliations
  • Managing accounting records for JVs and TE Wind projects
  • Assist in annual audit - provide documentation and support to external auditors
  • Lead/assist management with certain FP&A duties, such as forecasting and budgeting
  • Developing staff, by training them on GAAP application and re-enforcing problem areas with additional training
  • Respond to inquiries from the management team
  • Manage tasks for a team of 2-3 accountants
  • Process various financial reports by downstream unit
  • Report up to JV partner and other vested parties (i.e.-Board, management, tax equity partners) on financial results
  • Record and ensure that all revenues are recorded in the appropriate period and coded properly, in accordance with revenue recognition policy
  • Prepare/review/initiate payments and collections
  • Ad-hoc cash management and supervision of cash activities
  • Preparation of a complete set of financials including a balance sheet and the related statements of income, stockholders' or members' equity and cash flows on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Perform other duties as assigned related to WindHQ
What You Bring to The Role
  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or similarly related field
  • A minimum of five (5) years of accounting experience to include audit or corporate accounting
  • Team management experience
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel background that allows he/she to process and interpret large and formula-heavy models
  • Ability to apply US GAAP to specific transactional detail
  • Financial reporting experience
  • Efficiently closing multiple entities on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis
Our Ideal Candidate Will Also Possess
  • CPA license
  • Yardi systems experience
  • Accounting experience in renewables, cryptocurrency, development/construction a huge plus
