JOB DESCRIPTION
The Accounting Assistant is responsible for providing support to specific accounting functions and various fiscal service areas. These include contract billing, coordinating Accounts Receivable, entering invoices for Accounts Payable, completing monthly bank reconciliations, and company credit card reconciliations.
JOB COMPLEXITY
Assists with preparing, posting, verifying, and recording transactions related to Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
Communicates effectively with both internal and external customers, following up on questions and discrepancies.
Reconcile monthly bank activity and credit card activity, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Maintain up-to-date electronic contract and billing files (including claim forms, back-up documentation, correspondence, fully executed contracts, etc.)
Complete monthly contract billing in accordance with contract requirements
Monitor subcontracts related to billing
Maintain and produce monthly trending reports, projections, and metrics
Ensure accuracy of all work in accordance with established due dates
MINIMUM COMPETENCIES
2 years general accounting experience required including, but not limited to:
Accounts Receivable
Accounts Payable
General Ledger accounting
Non-profit experience a plus
- Proven strong customer service skills
- Working knowledge of accounting programs (Quickbooks required) and Google Workspace and MS office
COMPENSATION
- Starting Rate: $23.00/hour (all new hires begin at starting salary regardless of experience)
