About the Role
The Company is seeking a VP of Accounting to join their team. The successful candidate will be a key figure in the organization, responsible for the accuracy of financial statements, managing grants, and providing strategic financial insights. This role involves overseeing the preparation of financial statements, ensuring their accuracy and completeness, and managing the financial aspects of multiple federal and state grants, including budgeting, reporting, and compliance. The VP of Accounting will also be tasked with establishing and maintaining robust internal controls, coordinating audit processes, and leading a high-performing accounting team. Applicants for the VP of Accounting position at the company should have a minimum of 5 years experience in a high-level accounting role, with a strong proficiency in all accounting functions. The role requires demonstrated experience in managing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, expertise in auditing procedures, and extensive knowledge of budget processes and forecasting. Experience in grant accounting and a deep understanding of financial regulations and accounting principles are essential. The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership and communication skills, advanced proficiency in accounting software, and the ability to manage and motivate a team. A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required, with a master’s degree or CPA certification preferred.
