Position Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer with an active TS/SCI clearance and polygraph to support our federal government client onsite in the National Capital Region (NRC), Tampa Bay, FL, or Colorado Springs, CO. This role is critical to ensuring the security and integrity of mission-critical systems, working in a highly classified environment. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of hands-on cybersecurity experience and meet or exceed DoD 8410 IAM Level II or III requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cybersecurity Operations: Lead the planning, execution, and maintenance of cybersecurity operations, ensuring that all systems are secure, compliant, and fully operational in accordance with DoD and federal standards.
- Risk Management Framework (RMF): Implement and manage the RMF process to identify, assess, and mitigate risks, ensuring continuous compliance with DoD cybersecurity requirements.
- Security Assessments and Audits: Conduct advanced vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security audits to identify risks and vulnerabilities in highly classified environments. Provide actionable recommendations for remediation.
- Incident Response: Lead incident response efforts to detect, contain, and mitigate security threats, ensuring that all activities adhere to federal incident response procedures.
- System Security Engineering: Design and implement secure architectures for classified systems, including secure configurations, access controls, and continuous monitoring in alignment with federal standards (e.g., NIST SP 800-53, NIST SP 800-37).
- Compliance and Certification: Ensure systems meet or exceed the requirements for DoD 8410 IAM Level II or III, as well as other relevant federal security certifications. This includes handling all aspects of system accreditation and maintaining Authority to Operate (ATO) status.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain comprehensive security documentation, including security policies, procedures, and plans, while delivering clear and concise reports to federal leadership.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and network engineers, to ensure security is integrated into every aspect of system operations and development.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on federal systems, including significant experience working in classified environments.
- Clearance: Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required. U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
- Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or related field (Master's preferred).
- Must meet or exceed DoD 8410 IAM Level II or III certification requirements, such as CISSP, CISM, or GSLC.
- Technical Expertise:
- Strong understanding of RMF, NIST SP 800-53, NIST SP 800-37, and DoD cybersecurity policies.
- Experience with advanced security tools such as Splunk, Tenable, Palo Alto, and various SIEM, vulnerability management, and endpoint protection platforms.
- Extensive knowledge of security protocols, encryption technologies, and secure network architecture.
- Incident Response Expertise: Experience leading incident response activities, including forensics, containment, and root cause analysis within a classified environment.
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a high-pressure, mission-critical setting.
Work Environment:
- Location: Onsite, 100% at the National Capital Region (NRC), Tampa Bay, FL, or Colorado Springs, CO. No remote work permitted.
- Clearance Requirement: Active TS/SCI with Polygraph is mandatory.
