POSITION: RESIDENTIAL ADVISOR

LOCATION: Santa Clara, CA

TYPE: FT – Contract-to-Hire

Shifts: Overnight Friday to Tuesday from 11 pm to 8:30 am

INDUSTRY: NON-PROFIT SOCIAL SERVICES

PAY: $23.00 - $25.00/hr, $25.00 - $27.00/hr with Bilingual Spanish Skills/Fluency

Our client is a non-profit organization providing housing and support services to Youth/Young Adults facing homelessness.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Residential Advisor will provide supervision and delivery of residential services to residents, within the framework of the Mission Statement, Policies and Procedures. This position is required to adhere to all agency policies/procedures and practices (time/attendance, cell phone, telecommunications, safety, alert).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide supervision of the shelter, including coverage of the various areas of the facility.

• Perform duties in accordance with established policies and procedures

• Answer telephones and monitor clients' use of phone

• Complete paperwork as assigned

• Review clients' files on a regular basis

• Work directly with clients doing triage, (i.e., field/needs/incident questions)

• Inspect common areas for cleanliness and safety on a daily basis

• Monitor clients in the shelter

• Be alert to clients and surroundings even during one-on-one conversations

• Develop knowledge of the current community resources available to clients.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience working with youth, young adults, or similar settings.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and strong organizational skills.

• Computer literate (Word, Outlook, ACCESS, etc.)

• Self-starter and team player with the ability to work with other staff members, clients, vendors and the public.

• Must have a valid CA driver's license and good driving record

• May need to transport clients/staff if required using agency transportation.

• Knowledgeable in: Adolescent Development, Crisis Intervention, Multi-Cultural Awareness, CPR & FIRST AID.
