Summary: The Asleep Overnight Direct Support Professional 2 will provide support and assistance to individuals with developmental and psychiatric disabilities during the overnight hours as needed in Level 2 residential programs. Staff will provide support to individuals who may need daily intervention, supervision and skills training in activities of daily living while managing within a home environment and in the community. Individuals may require moderate physical assistance or accommodations. Staff will receive specialized training in order to provide enhanced supervision or interventions designed to address multiple disabilities which may include behavioral supports or enhanced medical care.

Schedule: Thursday, Friday, Saturday 11:00pm-6:00am (Asleep) 6:00am-9:00am (Awake) (30 hours)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provide support and assist individuals with all activities of daily living during the morning routine.
  2. Provide assistance to individuals during the overnight shift who may wake up or have needs requiring assistance.
  3. Provide services to individuals according to, DDS, DMH, MassHealth, HUD, DPH, CARF and all applicable regulatory standards, and Bridgewell policies and procedures.
  4. Maintain daily and monthly progress notes, shift checklists and other program documentation according to DDS, DMH and all applicable regulatory standards.
  5. Complete household cleaning duties as assigned.
  6. Maintain safety of all individuals while on shift including implementing emergency policies as needed.
  7. Administer medications according to MAP regulations.
  8. Maintain core training certifications including CPR/FA, OSHA, CPI, PABC and MAP if applicable.
  9. Maintain additional mandated trainings and certifications as required by the program.
  10. Transport individuals as needed.
  11. Other duties as assigned.

Required Education/Experience:

  1. Must have a high school diploma or GED. Associates or DSP Certification preferred.
  2. A minimum of 1 year of experience working with people with developmental or psychiatric disabilities who have significant medical and/or behavioral needs necessary.
  3. Bachelor's degree in related field a preferred.

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  1. Excellent written and oral communication skills so that writing of required documents is clear and articulate.
  2. Excellent organizational and problem solving skills.
  3. Valid driver's license and one year of driving experience.
  4. Computer literacy to include ability to use proficiently Microsoft products and web based applications used by the agency.

Physical Demands:

  1. While performing the duties of this job, employee is frequently required to climb stairs.
  2. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
  3. The employee must be able to drive a vehicle and regularly meet driving record requirements of the agency.
  4. Must have a normal range of eyesight with or without corrective lenses.
  5. Must have a normal range of hearing with or without corrective equipment.
