Position Summary, Job Requirements & ResponsibilitiesWhat We're Looking For:
Iridium is seeking a Senior Contracts Manager to join our Legal Team. In this position, you will partner with Iridium's government programs and operations teams to support and advance the company's public sector business. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing Iridium contractual relationships in a professional, timely, and cost-effective manner. The government contracts, subcontracts and other key agreements you will manage are critical to Iridium's business, our value-added partners, and our customers. These contracts support mission-critical communications solutions at a growing, mid-sized technology company that retains small-size company advantages and ambience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide expert contracts management guidance, oversight and know-how throughout the federal government contracting lifecycle for both FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 15 contracts and subcontracts, including cost-reimbursement contracts, and Other Transaction Authority (OTA) agreements
- Prepare and disseminate information for management consideration regarding contract status, negotiation, compliance, modification, and termination
- Develop successful working relationships with internal customers, stakeholders, government contracting officers, and prime contractors in the formation, negotiation, award, performance, and close-out of contracts and subcontracts
- Identify and mitigate contractual risks; confirm compliance with applicable legal/regulatory requirements, company policies and industry best practices; and ensure company positions are accurately documented and fully reviewed in accordance with company policies
- Develop and refine policies, procedures, and processes to facilitate consistent, agile, risk-based approaches to contract management and compliance with contract requirements
Experience & Education Requirements / EEO
What You'll Need to Succeed:
- Bachelor's degree in business or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in federal government contracting, preferably with a defense contractor, telecommunications or other technology organization, or government service
- Significant experience working with Department of Defense agencies with a background in development hybrid contract types
- Ability to identify and navigate negotiation of terms for commercial items and custom development on the same contract
- Experience handling dynamic contracts that have changing requirements and an ability to manage and organize priorities as well as contract compliance
- Ability to identify and negotiate nuanced terms related to Intellectual Property rights on research and prototype agreements
- Demonstrated knowledge of the FAR, DFARS and related acquisition regulations and procedures, including cost-reimbursement contracts
- Strong familiarity with tools, processes and software applications that support federal government contracting activities
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey products, deliverables, analyses, and/or issues clearly and confidently, and recognize and adapt to different communication techniques
- Can easily build meaningful relationships with others, including senior leadership outside of your own department, and is comfortable providing constructive feedback to your team members and management
- Be able to analyze a situation or problem, generate effective solutions, and see those solutions through to completion
- Must possess the creativity and resourcefulness needed to make reliable decisions and determine methods on new assignments
- Can thrive in a dynamic environment by handling multiple tasks and managing shifting priorities
- Be proactive in sharing knowledge you've learned with others

- Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CPCM or CFCM)
We'll also need you to:
- Travel up to 15%
- Be a U.S. citizen
- Hold or be eligible to obtain a secret security clearance
Work Environment:
This position primarily works in the company office or in a home office. The position is largely sedentary with the majority of the position sitting in a chair and working with a computer. The role uses basic office equipment including a phone, video, computer, keyboard, mouse, and printer.
