This position is hybrid in nature requiring 2 days/week on-site at the Westinghouse Global Headquarters facility in Cranberry Woods, PA in the Greater Pittsburgh Area. Your Day-to-Day: Engineer will be responsible for performing design basis safety analysis for nuclear reactors, in particular for Loss of Coolant Accidents (LOCA). Additional Responsibilities: Development and assessment of models and correlations for prediction of two-phase flow and heat transfer phenomena Use of statistical techniques for performing realistic nuclear reactor safety analysis and/or development of analysis methodologies for design basis accidents Cognizance of plant specific licensing basis, Analysis of Record, 50.46 reportingPoint of contact for plant-specific LOCA specific inquiries from both internal and external customers Evaluate impacts of plant modifications and operating changes on design analysis Participate on project teams Communicate to responsible project manager nature and status of work projects Who You Are: As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team: Bachelors in on of the following Engineering Disciplines:Chemical Engineering,Mechanical Engineering,Nuclear Engineering Prior Nuclear Industry Experience Preferred Prior experience with LOCA Saftey Analysis preferred SPECIFIC DESIRED SKILLS: Ability to apply fundamental engineering principles Concise and effective written and verbal skills Ability to independently establish and implement personal goals and action plans Develop and deliver technical presentations to communicate a variety of issues: project status, problem resolution, engineering recommendations, etc. Interest in software programming and code development, while not required, is considered a benefit Why Westinghouse?
