The Quality Engineer will be responsible to support Quality Assurance with a focus at our client's West Chester, Ohio manufacturing facility. Providing technical and applied expertise in the areas of manufacturing of their unique package which is designed for personal care products, household products, pet products, industrial, and food products. Daily executional responsibilities ensure the safety, quality, and legality of the product meets regulatory and customer expectations. This position reports to the VP of Quality

  • Works closely with suppliers to ensure appropriate quality standards are being maintained
  • Initiates and maintains Supplier and Internal Corrective Action (CAPA) system.
  • Provides expertise and support in working cross-functionally with Engineering and Manufacturing on opportunities and new processes.
  • Initiates corrugate box design with corrugate vendors and execute on required testing to qualify box design
  • Trend analysis within Quality Systems to establish standard reporting and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Use of statistical tools to communicate performance, track performance, and provide recommendations on testing frequency.
  • Perform Microbiological testing confirming effective sanitation and environmental cleanliness on a routine basis.
  • Oversee R&D Pilot plant development activities as it relates to quality data analysis of new designs, customer samples, and experiments conducted
  • Provides customer required documentation and support site visits from customers.
  • Quality release of production product including creation of certificates of conformance
  • Disposition of non-conforming product and management of quarantine areas
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years related experience in packaging or food safety and quality assurance preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Food Science, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Packaging Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience with recognized GFSI standards (BRCGS Packaging Standard Preferred), Good Manufacturing Practices, Sanitation, Pest Control, and CFRs relevant to our industry
  • Experience with implementing and maintaining ISO Certifications
  • Ability to interpret data, process capability and relate it to specification and process
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with effective time management
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to assemble resources needed to orchestrate multiple projects / activities and accomplish goals
  • HACCP Certification Preferred
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher Preferred
  • Intermediate to High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and statistical software such as Minitab.
