Other Conditions: Casual Hire temporary appointment is expected begin November 2024 or soon thereafter.

Duties:
  1. Develop and establish practicum sites in community mental health and substance abuse treatment organizations, with a focus on neighboring islands (Oahu, Maui, and Kauai).
  2. Build strong relationships with community partners, serving as the primary liaison to ensure practicum placements meet program goals and provide diverse training experiences.
  3. In collaboration with the program director and program coordinator, assist students in securing practicum placements aligned with their academic and career goals, offering ongoing support throughout their placements.
  4. Collaborate with faculty to refine the practicum component of the CSAC track and evaluate the effectiveness of placements, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards.
  5. Coordinate training for community partners and students, staying updated on best practices in mental health and substance use disorder treatment to maintain relevant practicum experiences.
  6. Conduct other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  1. A master's degree in Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
  2. Licensed or license-eligible as a counselor, psychologist, or social worker, with specialized training in substance use disorder treatment.
  3. At least 2 years of experience in clinical training, practicum coordination, or related roles within mental health or substance abuse treatment settings.
  4. Strong knowledge of substance use disorder treatment and Certified Substance Abuse Counseling (CSAC) in the State of Hawaii.
  5. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional relationships with community organizations and treatment providers.
  6. Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple partnerships and student placements.
Desirable Qualifications:
  1. Experience in practicum or internship coordination within a university or educational setting.
  2. Knowledge of local community mental health and substance abuse treatment resources.
  3. Experience in program development and evaluation, particularly in clinical training or practicum settings.
  4. Familiarity with accreditation requirements related to practicum placements in counseling or psychology programs.
