We have an immediate opening for a Claims Specialist at our Little Canada, MN office
SUMMARY
The Claims Specialist is responsible for supporting Safety/Operations performing administrative duties as required by the Claims Manager.
Primary Requirements:
*Experience with claims negotiations and/or resolutions of claims (communicating with claimants/customers/initiating new claims)
*Experience with claims handling processes (WC/Auto/GL) and the ability to handle large customer base and multi states
Responsibilities Include:
- Assisting the Claims Manager with claims files and loss reporting.
- Receiving first reports of incident on general liability, injury, and auto claims.
- Requesting investigation documentation from Foremen and Supervisors.
- Requesting Police reports.
- Claims file data input.
- Assisting with providing the Operations Group and clients with periodic Loss Reports.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Exemplary communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to work with field employees on investigations.
- Leadership skills and the ability to effectively develop strong working relationships.
- Ability to share expertise with others and continually build their knowledge and skills.
- Advanced knowledge of computers and Windows based software and the ability and willingness to learn new software applications that are employed to improve process and efficiency.
- Respond promptly to departmental needs and resolve all issues satisfactorily.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Ability to build a positive team spirit.
- Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness in everything you do.

- Prior Auto/GL/WC insurance and/or risk management experience is a plus
- High School diploma required, post-secondary preferred. An equivalent combination of experience and training will be considered.
- English required - Spanish a plus.
- Ability to effectively present information in a one-on-one and small group situation.
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds for departmental deliveries.
- Close vision is required for some functions and distance and peripheral vision is required for safety.
- Typical office environment.
- Employee may be subjected to outside weather conditions during field training or investigation.
- Employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold, extreme heat and risk of electric shock and vibration.
- The noise level in the outdoor work environment can often be loud.
- The employee may be exposed to slow or fast-moving traffic in the outdoor work environment.
- Adhere to all company policies, rules and regulations as stated in the Company Employee Handbook and Safety Manual.
- Be available for occasional weekly shifts of emergency after-hours and emergency weekend on-call duties.
- May require occasional overnight travel to Q3 locations and perspective locations.
- Must represent self and company in a professional, courteous and respectful manner when dealing with customers, vendors, employees and the public.
