Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or a closely related field; three years of experience in professional engineering; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required.

Duties

  • Review the impacts of proposed developments on the existing water and wastewater systems.
  • Review site and subdivision construction plans, zoning requests, and other community development applications for compliance with the county specifications, as well as state and federal requirements.
  • Evaluate water distribution and wastewater collection systems using field data and standard engineering practices supplemented with computer hydraulic modeling.
  • Prepare and review reports, drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and contracts.
  • Interact with the public and collaborate with other agencies, consulting firms, and internal/external customers.
  • Host or attend meetings with presentations.
  • Use Geographic Information System (GIS) Mapping software to answer public inquiries and collect and interpret system data.
  • Will train to use Innovyze (Infowater) to run hydraulic flow tests, both static and dynamic, of the county water system to provide information for internal and external customers.
  • Respond to customer inquiries about extending or connecting to the county water and wastewater systems.
  • Perform other work as required.
