SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quality Engineer with a background in woodworking and manufacturing processes to lead quality assurance initiatives for our toilet partition product line. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing quality control, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and driving continuous improvement in product quality. This role requires hands-on experience with wood products, a deep understanding of quality management systems, tools and techniques, and the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and enhance production processes.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing quality control, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and driving continuous improvement in product quality. This role requires hands-on experience with wood products, a deep understanding of quality management systems, tools and techniques, and the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and enhance production processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of the quality management system (QMS), ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
- Lead and manage quality projects.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions (CA).
- Drive the resolution of non-conformities and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) across the organization.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders, such as suppliers and customers.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
- Develop and oversee Quality Control standards for company products, the documentation control process, including the management of quality documents and records.
- Manage the utilization and upkeep of the Quality Database to organize Quality Control operations and streamline workflows, while gathering data on defects and customer grievances.
- Generate relevant reports to present product audit findings and deliver customized reports as requested to aid committees, task forces, and other stakeholders.
- Plan and execute internal audits and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of the QMS and identify areas for improvement.
- Oversee and recommend the type and scope of Quality Inspection needed in manufacturing, shipping, and receiving functions. Ensure that inspections are performed, the results are reported, and appropriate corrective actions by various departments are taken as deemed necessary.
- Promote a robust quality-oriented environment across the division and the company, showcasing proactive and positive engagement in upholding product quality standards and participating in quality-driven programs and initiatives.
- Analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
- Represent the quality department in cross-functional meetings and initiatives related to quality system management.
- Lead strategic supplier management initiatives, including supplier selection, development, and performance improvement.
- Drive the development and implementation of supplier quality strategies and initiatives to enhance overall supply chain quality and reliability.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on supplier quality management, providing guidance and support to cross-functional teams and senior management.
- Conduct in-depth supplier assessments and audits to evaluate quality systems, processes, and capabilities.
- Lead supplier quality improvement projects, including supplier development initiatives and process optimization efforts.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure and improve supplier performance.
- Lead cross-functional teams in root cause analysis and corrective action activities to address supplier-related quality issues.
- Represent the organization in supplier quality discussions with external stakeholders, including customers and regulatory agencies.
- Supervise a staff of 2 to 4 individual inspectors and quality technicians. Responsible for planning, assigning and directing work; addressing employee concerns and complaints; resolving employee problems; administering personnel policies; and work with the manager in applying appropriate discipline and encouraging growth and development of each employee in a positive and supportive role.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and mentor a team of quality technicians, ensuring proper training and guidance.
- Assign project-based tasks, prioritize workload, and oversee the completion of quality inspections and testing for toilet partition products.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards, policies, and procedures by the quality technicians.
- Provide technical support and problem-solving expertise to the quality technicians during the inspection and resolution of quality issues.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork within and outside of the quality team.
- If required, conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to encourage professional growth and development of the quality technicians.
- Bachelor's degree in STEM with 5+ years of experience in quality engineering or related field, or 12+ years of relevant work experience.
- In-depth knowledge of quality management systems and regulatory requirements.
- Proven track record of implementing quality initiatives and driving process improvements.
- Experience in leading complex projects and mentoring junior team members.
- Excellent leadership, decision-making, and stakeholder management skills.
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis and quality management tools.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret procedures, and technical requirements. Ability to write clear and concise reports, letters, and procedures.
- Fundamental comprehension of mathematical functions and statistics, as they are frequently employed to calculate sample sizes and report quality metrics.
- Basic training in statistical process control (SPC) is essential, with hands-on experience applying SPC techniques in a production setting.
- Proficiency in problem solving and addressing various concrete.
- Capability to interpret a range of instructions presented in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule formats.
