Job Description
- Project Oversight: Direct all on-site construction activities to ensure project completion according to plans, specifications, and schedule.
- Team Leadership: Lead and manage the on-site construction team, including subcontractors and laborers, to create a safe and productive work environment.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all work complies with local building codes, company standards, and project specifications.
- Safety Management: Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe work site for all personnel.
- Communication: Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for the project management team, providing regular updates on project status and addressing any issues.
- Coordination: Coordinate with suppliers, inspectors, and other stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of materials and successful project milestones.
- Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during construction, minimizing delays and cost overruns.
The Successful Applicant
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Superintendent in the construction industry, specifically with commercial projects.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale construction projects from inception to completion.
- In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and specifications.
- Proficiency in construction management software and tools.
- OSHA certification or similar safety training is preferred.
