Pursuit Aerospace in Manchester has an opportunity for a dynamic Strategic Sourcing Specialist to manage the development and deployment of strategic cost savings initiatives for direct materials across 17 sites.

The selected candidate will actively participate in the procurement strategy process with day-to-day responsibilities including, strategic requirements planning, data analytics, process improvement initiatives and project management. This position reports to the Director, Strategic Sourcing and will be located in Manchester or South Windsor CT.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
  • Perform data collection and analysis to support strategic assumptions, cost and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate cross functionally with Pursuit staff representing the legal, technical and financial departments.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers, participate in Long Term Agreement negotiations.
  • Assist the Supply Chain team with various projects and initiatives that drive supply chain maturity, value, and sustainability.
  • Assist in organizing and facilitating internal team meetings and initiative reviews.
  • Gather and disseminate information to appropriate stakeholders regarding best practices for agreements and purchase orders.
  • Support the development and communication of Supply Chain key metrics, standard work and documentation of policies and procedures.
  • Actively participate on behalf of Strategic Sourcing in Continuous Improvement efforts.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and written, in English.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience with ERPs systems, electronic procurement and analytical software.
  • Ability to understand industry-standard terms and conditions and the impact of supplier exceptions.
  • Effectively articulate strategies, set clear expectations for project implementation
  • Demonstrated recognition of industry raw materials, market and pricing trends.
  • Understanding of traceability controls, quality requirements and certification requirements.
  • Working knowledge of the Aerospace and Aircraft Engine parts industries.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of MRP and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain or related field. In the absence of a degree, more than 4 years of progressive sourcing and purchasing experience.
  • Five (5) years progressive sourcing or purchasing experience.
  • Attention to detail, ability to influence in a matrixed organization.
  • Advanced knowledge of excel and ability to manage large data sets.
