Ballpark Operations Intern
The Springfield Lucky Horseshoes are seeking qualified individuals to assist in the operations of Robin Roberts Stadium for the upcoming season as Ballpark Operations Interns. This position will assist in managing food and beverage, hospitality areas, and ballpark operations. They will also assist in pre- and post-season clean-up of the ballpark, and other outside events. Ballpark Operations Interns play a large role in the overall fan experience. This summer internship program runs from mid-May to mid-August. Interns must be available for each home game, along with any additional duties assigned throughout the season.
Responsibilities Include:
- Assist in the execution of daily ballpark operations and food and beverage management
- Assist in stocking, preparing, and presentation of the ballpark, concessions stands, and hospitality areas
- Assist in daily maintenance of the ballpark and equipment on game and non-game days
- Assist in management, supervision, and scheduling of game-day staff
- Assist with food preparation (Caterings, pre/post-game team meals, concessions, etc.)
- Assist in food waste management
- Assist in ordering and receiving inventory
- Knowledge of all game-day activities and specialties
- Manage hospitality areas, fulfilling guest requests
- Ability to step into game day staff roles as needed
- Restocking bars & concessions during events
- Assist in the cleanup and closing of the bar and concession stand
- Other duties assigned
- Capable of taking direction to complete assigned tasks
- Knowledge or experience in areas of Hospitality, Event Management, and/or Food & Beverage preferred
- Must be self-motivated, organized, and have great attention to detail
- Ability to be decisive and problem solve in high pressure situations
- Ability to multi-task
- Excellent communication skills
- Positive attitude - we are in the people business so it's important to be friendly and approachable
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs., bend, and reach Ability to stand and move around for long periods of time
