Internship Session: Spring 2025: Jan-June

Job Summary/Objective:
The U.S. National Teams Operations Intern will work with USA Football staff on a variety of initiatives centered around organic athlete engagement. Responsibilities include but are not limited to enhancing the department's social media presence through content creation, athlete engagement, social media scaling, and alumni interactions. Interns will also work on-site at select High Performance and National Teams events as determined by the department.

Education:
Applicants must be currently enrolled or accepted to an accredited college or university, recently graduated from an accredited college or university, or currently enrolled in or accepted to an accredited graduate school. Sports Management or related field of study preferred.

The U.S. National Teams Operations Intern will work with USA Football staff on a variety of initiatives centered around organic athlete engagement. Responsibilities include but are not limited to enhancing the department's social media presence through content creation, athlete engagement, social media scaling, and alumni interactions. Interns will also work on-site at select High Performance and National Teams events as determined by the department.
Essential Functions
- Work with USA Football's Marketing and Creative departments to create and distribute content through the U.S. National Team's traditional social media Channel's (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, GMTM etc.)
- Build a database of past & present U.S. National Team athletes ("alumni") and developing a plan to meaningfully engage them via the U.S. National Team's various social media platforms.
- Correspond with prospective athletes (via social media and other platforms) about upcoming U.S. National Team events and activations (e.g., U.S. National Team Trials
Required Education and Experience
- Experience communicating with prospective athletes directly or indirectly via social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok etc.). Understanding of marketing funnels is preferred.
- Background or passion for digital content, digital marketing, and community management/engagement
- Experience using digital media as part of the athlete recruiting process is preferred.
- Knowledge and understanding for football or flag football is preferred
- Detailed-oriented and able to work independently required
- Excellent written and oral communication skills required
- Proficient in office software (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) and Google Docs applications. Also, experience with GMTM or Athletes Soul - apps/software is a PLUS
