Summary

Enerflex requires an Instrument and Electrical designer with background in drafting general arrangements of Control Panels, Junction Boxes, Skids and Electrical Heat Trace. Developing detailed wiring diagrams from P&IDs (Pipe and Instrumentation Diagrams), engineering sketches, specifications, and/or vendor drawings.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties
  • Prepare Grounding, Lighting, Cable Tray and Hazardous Area Classification Plans, Skid Layouts, Electrical Heat Trace Isometric, Tubing Installation Details, One Line Diagrams, Panel Schedules, Loop Drawings, Control Panel and Junction Box Layouts, including Bill of Materials.
  • Develop wiring diagrams from working P&IDs (Pipe and Instrumentation Diagrams), specifications and/or vendor drawings.
  • Support Electrical and Instrument Engineer on project deliverables.
  • Collaborate with Piping and Structural Designers on project deliverables.
  • Develop new inner-connect wiring diagrams based on vendor drawings.
  • Contribute to our constant improvement using AutoCAD and Enerflex engineering tools to streamline our offerings and customize our designs.
  • All designs must be in accordance with company and industry standards.
  • Model and champion Enerflex core values in ways that center team culture on these values.
  • Abide by and promote the Enerflex HSE policy.

Qualifications
  • Education and Certification - Required:
    • Proficient using AutoCAD 2020 or later edition.

  • Education and Certification - Desired:
    • Associate's degree in Drafting or related field / Trade School Certification
    • Design under NEC 500
    • Diploma in instrumentation technology from a recognized institution or equivalent work experience.
    • ANSI/ISA 12.01.01, NFPA 496/497 code for Hazardous Area location experience.
    • IEC Design Certification is a plus.

  • Ten plus (10+) years of experience in Instrument and Electrical design.
  • Familiar with PLC design.
  • Familiar with NEMA and IP ratings for enclosures.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and Bluebeam Revu.
  • Experience in cable and/or conduit layout design is a plus.
  • Good organization and planning skills.
  • Self -motivated, ability to work under general supervision.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and written.
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to work with the team in developing improved work processes for the department.
  • Overtime as required.
